Welcome to Putting-Greens.com. This site contains information and products for people interested in building a real bent grass putting green in their back yard. In 1995, I built a 1000 square foot green right in my back yard, using only hand tools, and "inexpensive" materials. The green turned out really great (fantastic !), and my family, neighbors, and golf buddies have been enjoying practice, matches, parties and even tournaments on our backyard green. It is now the centerpiece of our yard, a great conversation item and my pride and joy.
At the urging of colleagues and friends, I spent a winter writing a "how-to" manual for those interested in attempting this themselves. This is a challenging but fun and rewarding project that requires a lot of knowledge about turf care practices. With a little work, patience, and information, you can build your very own golf masterpiece and practice facility.
